
Fr. Marty Nagy
Fr. Marty Nagy is a Byzantine Catholic priest with the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Chicago. He administers St. John the Baptist and St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Parishes in Belfield, North Dakota. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC. He also studied theology at the Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky Institute for Eastern Christian Studies of St. Paul University, Ottawa, Ontario, and the Franciscan Institute of St. Bonaventure University, St. Bonaventure, New York. He studied for a Master of Art degree in English Literature at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado; American Sign Language at Gallaudet University, Washington, DC; and the Ukrainian language at the Ukrainian Catholic University, L’viv, Ukraine. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana.
Fr. Marty compiled and edited a number of Catholic spirituality books for Madonna House Publications, including Beginning Again: Recovering Your Innocence and Joy Through Confession; I Believe: Living the Apostles’ Creed; In the Footprints of Loneliness; In the Furnace of Doubts; Inflamed by Love; Living the Gospel Without Compromise; On the Cross of Rejection; Soul of My Soul: Coming to the Heart of Prayer; and The Stations of the Cross: In the Footsteps of the Passion. He wrote for the Canadian Roman Catholic Bishops’ Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ Catholic education textbooks (K–8), and its teachers’ professional development modules. Also, he wrote a youth ministry manual for The Augustine Institute, Denver, and edited and wrote youth ministry, Sunday school, and vacation Bible school materials for Group Publications, Loveland, Colorado. He also edited some books on Eastern Orthodox spirituality.
