And that has fuck all to do with AoS. [–]darkoc44 33 points34 points35 points 3 months ago (0 children), Kinda but no, its more of a succession after the fantasy world got destroyed, [–]AlucardIV 25 points26 points27 points 3 months ago (6 children). They’ve only played Vermintide and Total War, maybe have read a little of the lore, but have never engaged in the hobby itself. That one meme has been a blight on AoS to be frank. Video game guys are Lore guys mostly. Still, fuck Games Workshop for killing Warhammer Fantasy. From a game design perspective it's a smash hit. You don't get a rich, fleshed-out fantasy setting without a lot of work and time, and you can count the number of still-active fantasy settings older and with more material than Warhammer on one hand (Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, Conan, maybe one or two others I can't think of). Those games had trailers done by Blur studios who are amongst the best in the business for that so it's understandable a small studio didn't meet that standard. r/Warhammer. Given all that-- I don't really know what people are expecting from The Old World. Compasses too work strangely as there's no locked directions. But yeah, I guess that comparison came off of other types of paints and got hit by telephone effect. It's set to be much more limited than a mainline game. A game in the AoS universe, made by the people who gave me Dawn of War II, my favorite RTS of all time. They probably realised that they can't really make that their own.
